And while you do that, I’ll jump right into this episode because I know you’re busy and you just want your info so you can get on with your life, so let’s do it!!
Now, we all have goals and dreams, but sometimes we struggle to achieve them. We get stuck in our own heads, thinking that we’re not good enough, that it’s too hard, or that we just don’t have the time.
But what if I told you that it’s all about mindset? Yes, you heard me right. Your mindset can make or break your success.
A few years ago, I set a goal to get back in shape because I was hurt. I had no energy. I could barely get my butt off the couch. At first, I thought it was impossible. I hadn’t worked out in such a long time up until that point.
But I shifted my mindset. I decided to focus on making progress every day. First I started with getting up an hour earlier. That was a process. Had to work up to that. Once I was waking up an hour earlier, then I added in a short workout.
I literally just started out with some pushups, body weight squats, things like that… nothing crazy. Just a few sets to get my body moving and the blood flowing.
Before you know it, I joined a gym, signed up with a trainer, and started working my way up into olympic style weightlifting.
I’m actually dying to start doing that again. I loved it because it was more than just lifting up heavy weights. There’s an err of athleticism involved with it. It was fun! I enjoyed it a lot…
But getting to this point was one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done… again, I was out of shape, no energy… but it showed me that with the right mindset, anything is possible.
So, how do we get the right mindset to achieve our goals? Well, it all starts with a positive attitude. You need to believe in yourself and your abilities. Don’t let negative self-talk hold you back.
So for example… Let’s say you want to lose weight and get in shape, but you’re not sure where to start.
Well… If you have a negative mindset, you might focus on all the reasons why it’s too hard or why you can’t do it.
But if you have a positive mindset, you’ll focus on the possibilities. You’ll see each small step forward as progress, and you’ll celebrate every win, no matter how small.
This positive mindset will keep you motivated and help you stay on track towards your goal, even when you face obstacles along the way.
But, having a positive attitude alone is not enough. You also need to set realistic and achievable goals. Break them down into smaller steps and focus on making progress every day.
Setting achievable goals is an essential part of achieving success.
Instead of setting vague goals like ‘I want to lose weight’ or ‘I want to get in shape,’ set specific, measurable, and achievable goals like ‘I want to lose 10 pounds in the next three months’ or ‘I want to run a 5k in six weeks.’
These goals are specific, measurable, and achievable, and they give you a clear target to work towards. It’s like a GPS… you can set your GPS to California… or you can set it to The Golden Gate Bridge…
They’ll both get you to Cali but only one will get you to one of the 8 wonders of the world. You know what I mean?
And now… Once you achieve these goals, you can set new ones and keep building momentum towards your ultimate goal.
And, here’s a secret: it’s okay to fail. Yes, you heard me right.
Failure is a part of the process. Embrace it and learn from it.
Don’t give up just because you stumbled along the way.
Because here’s the thing… Even though failure can be painful and discouraging…
It’s also an essential part of growth.
When you fail, you learn valuable lessons that you can apply to future situations.
Failure teaches you what doesn’t work, so you can adjust your approach and try again.
It also builds resilience and grit… And this helps you become more resilient in the face of future challenges.
So don’t be afraid to fail.
Instead, embrace failure as an opportunity to learn, grow, and ultimately achieve your goals.
Now, I know some of you might be thinking, “But Isai, I’m not super fit or athletic. How can I achieve my health goals?”
Well, let me tell you, it’s not about being perfect or having a six-pack.
It’s about making small changes every day that lead to a healthier lifestyle.
You can start by drinking more water. It’s that simple.
Replace sugary drinks with water, and aim to drink at least eight glasses a day.
Because staying hydrated can help you feel more energized and focused, and it can also help you avoid overeating.
You can also get up and move more throughout the day.
Take the stairs instead of the elevator, go for a short walk during your lunch break, or do a few stretches at your desk.
These small movements can add up and help you stay active and healthy, even if you don’t have time for a full workout.
