The fitness industry has long led us to believe that “more is more.”
That “more is better”…
And the you’ve gotta “show up or go home”
And this can be true for the most part but not always.
This “attitude” towards the gym and working out means that if you’re looking to get stronger…
… you might think that committing to two-a-day workouts is the fastest and easiest way to do it.
But again… that’s not always the case.
I mean… It IS possible to go TOO hard—which can backfire.
And if it backfires, you’ll most likely find yourself NOT making ANY strength gains.
And it’s important to keep an eye on signs of over training for the sake of your overall health.
So “Over training” happens when you exceed (or go way beyond) your body’s ability to recover from strenuous exercise.
It happens when you don’t give your body enough time to rest and repair.
This is critical for serious gains.
Because if you don’t give your body the right amount of time to restore and rebuild itself…
This will most likely cause your performance to significantly decline in and out of the gym.
So if you’ve at the gym all week and it’s been all pain and no gain…
… then it’s possible that you’re over training yourself to death.
